Ethan's Birthday

So we finally had ourselves a nice weekend - sunny, 17C - who could ask for more?? Saturday was Ethan's (Kirk and Laurie's son) 2nd birthday so we packed up the family and headed out to Hammond Plains for a party. What I've come to realize is that a kid's birthday party is a pretty good excuse for the adults to get together and have a few drinks while the kids finally occupy themselves for once - was it like this when Nardine and I were kids? (or were we both just so good that our parents never needed a break from us - I'm guessing this was the case...) Other than Ethan and Dylan, the kids included Kylie and Ana. Ana is luckily moving to Winnipeg with her mom and dad, John and Cathy. With any luck that will be us next year, just hopefully a little farther west! Highlight of the evening as always was cake and presents but the tent and tunnel setup in the basement was a close second - may have to set up the mouse, oopps I mean kiddie course downstairs at our house!

Sunday was a gorgeous day so we took the patio furniture out of the shed and soaked in as much vitamin D as possible! Nardine went golfing in the morning with Karen and I took the afternoon to head outside climbing with Clive, Christian and Leanne (who are pregnant and due right around Dylan's birthday). Hopefully next weekend will be just as great and we can repeat the whole thing!

Yes Cory,
You are correct. I can only speak for Nardi but she was a perfect child. John and I never needed a break from her and Matt... of course, my Mom and Dad did live close by and they often begged to have the kids for the weekend. We would reluctantly let them go...
Very cheesy smile there with Dilly.
Love Grammie and Grampa
